Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 2025/11/20
1. Policy Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information in connection with the PP EMU Services and outlines your rights.
1.1 Purpose: To protect your privacy while enabling us to deliver a stable and compliant emulator experience.
1.2 Effective Date: This policy was last updated on 2025/11/20 and takes effect immediately.
1.3 Scope: This policy applies to all users of the PP EMU application and related services (collectively, the "Services").
1.4 Consent: Please review this policy carefully before using the Services. By downloading, installing, launching, browsing, registering, signing in, or continuing to use the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted this policy and authorize us to process your information accordingly. If you disagree with any part of this policy, stop using the Services immediately.
2. Lawfulness Principles
We collect information in accordance with principles of lawfulness, fairness, necessity, and good faith, and only where required to deliver product functionality or comply with legal obligations.
3. Information We Collect
We collect information primarily to improve the product and keep the Services secure:
3.1 Information You Provide:
- Support communications: When you email us or submit in-app feedback, we collect the contact details and message content you provide so we can respond.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically: To ensure reliable performance, we automatically gather limited device and usage data, such as:
- Device information: Device model (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro), operating system version (e.g., iOS 17.4), and device identifiers (e.g., IDFV). We do not use IDFA for cross-app tracking without your explicit consent.
- Usage information: Aggregated metrics like session frequency, duration, and which features you interact with (e.g., save states, cheats, filters) to improve the experience.
- Network information: IP address (for localization, security, and compliance) and connection type (Wi-Fi or cellular) to optimize delivery.
3.3 Information We Do Not Collect: Your game content remains yours. We do not:
- Access, scan, upload, or analyze any ROM file content you import.
- Read ROM filenames or embedded metadata such as game titles or publishers.
- Retrieve your ROMs, save files, or save-state snapshots, which stay on your device or the third-party cloud services you choose.
4. How We Use Information
We use collected data to:
- 4.1 Provide and improve the Services: Verify identity, maintain stability, fix bugs, and develop new capabilities.
- 4.2 Personalize experience: Remember your preferences and settings so you do not need to reconfigure them.
- 4.3 Security and anti-fraud: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, spam, or other risks, and protect users and infrastructure.
- 4.4 Legal compliance: Satisfy applicable laws, court orders, or lawful government requests.
- 4.5 Marketing and promotions: Send product updates or offers only after obtaining your explicit consent; you can opt out at any time.
- 4.6 Analytics and research: Analyze aggregated, de-identified data to guide product decisions.
5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We never sell your personal information. We share it only in these circumstances:
- 5.1 Service providers: Cloud hosting, analytics, and crash-reporting partners that operate under strict data-processing agreements.
- 5.2 Legal obligations: When required to comply with laws, regulations, or lawful requests from authorities.
- 5.3 Protection of rights and safety: To investigate and prevent fraud or security issues affecting users, partners, or the public.
- 5.4 Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, with notice provided before any change in control.
- 5.5 With your consent: Sharing additional information only after you explicitly agree.
- 5.6 Aggregated and de-identified data: Sharing non-identifiable statistics for analytics or research purposes.
6. Information Storage and Security
6.1 Storage locations: Your data may be stored on infrastructure operated by us or our providers around the world, and we ensure protections equivalent to those in your region.
6.2 Retention period: We retain data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described, taking into account service delivery, legal obligations, and potential disputes. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
6.3 Security measures: We employ encryption, access controls, regular security reviews, and staff training to prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
7. Your Choices and Control
You can adjust device settings to limit analytics collection (e.g., Firebase). To access, update, or delete your data, contact us using Section 14 and we will coordinate with relevant providers. Platform limitations may prevent immediate fulfillment of certain requests.
8. Children's Privacy
8.1 Age limit: The Services are intended for users who are at least 13 years old (or the age required to provide independent consent in your jurisdiction).
8.2 Parental consent: We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
8.3 Special protection: For information collected with parental permission, we use or disclose it only as allowed by law or when necessary to protect the child.
8.4 Parental rights: If you believe your child provided personal information, contact us at privacy@ppemu.com to request access, correction, or deletion.
9. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal information, and you may withdraw consent. Because we operate through the Apple platform, some actions must be completed via your Apple account; we will guide you after receiving your request.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
10.1 Service providers: As described in Section 5.1, we rely on third parties and recommend reviewing their privacy policies.
10.2 External links: The Services may contain links to third-party sites or services that are not governed by this policy.
10.3 Third-party SDKs: We may integrate SDKs (e.g., Google Analytics for Firebase, Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics, Google AdMob) for analytics, crash reporting, or advertising (free tier only, if applicable) and will request consent where required.
11. International Data Transfers
11.1 Cross-border transfers: Your information may be transferred to or accessed from jurisdictions outside your home country when authorized.
11.2 Safeguards: We implement measures such as data minimization, anonymization, and standard contractual clauses (where required) to protect cross-border transfers.
11.3 Your consent: Using the Services indicates your understanding and consent to these transfer arrangements, subject to applicable laws.
12. Region-Specific Rights
If you reside in the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with enhanced privacy rights, you may exercise rights such as access, deletion, and restriction. Contact us via Section 14 to submit a request and we will respond within the timelines required by law.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
13.1 Update notices: We may revise this policy and will notify you through in-app messages, push notifications, or website announcements.
13.2 Material changes: For significant updates—such as new processing purposes, data types, or usage—we will provide prominent notice before the changes take effect and may seek renewed consent.
13.3 Continued use: Please review this policy regularly; your continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
14. Contact Us
For questions, comments, or to exercise privacy rights, email us at privacy@ppemu.com. We will respond as soon as possible and coordinate with third-party providers when necessary.
15. Additional Information
15.1 Entire agreement: This Privacy Policy, together with our Terms of Service and Payment Agreement, constitutes the entire agreement between you and us regarding the PP EMU Services.
15.2 Language versions: If there is any inconsistency between the English version and other language versions, the English version prevails.
15.3 Severability: If any provision is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
